LatinUs’ Acting Studio

Orientation Guide for Workshop Participants

Welcome to the Acting Workshop for Beginners!

This workshop is designed for those who want to get started in the theatre world with a practical, dynamic, and collaborative approach. Throughout these weeks, we will explore the fundamental tools of the actor, from body expression to improvisation through voice work and character construction.

The Workshop

Each section will last 4- 5 weeks and will be a two-hour weekly class ( Monday) in a small group for three months. The goal is to offer a comprehensive introduction to acting work, provide tools for interpretation, vocal and body expression, and improvisation, develop teamwork and collective creation skills, and facilitate the preparation of a final sample that reflects the progress achieved during the workshop.

Methodology:

Throughout the classes, we will focus on practical and dynamic exercises, encouraging individual creativity and collaborative work. This workshop is based on the principle that the learning process should be a space of trust and mutual support where each participant feels free to explore, make mistakes, and grow.

For ages 17 and above.

The cost is $30 per month ($90) or $80 if you make one advance payment for three months.

Canto Vivo: Technique, Style, and Expression

It is a pleasure to welcome you on this journey of vocal and artistic exploration. At Canto Vivo, we will focus on discovering and developing a free, healthy, and expressive voice that not only shines in technique, but also transmits emotions and connects with the audience. This course is designed for singers of all levels and styles, because we believe that each voice is unique and deserves to be heard at its full potential. Throughout this course, you will not only learn the fundamentals of contemporary singing, but we will also work on how to integrate the body and the voice, seeking an authentic and powerful interpretation. We want you to experience the freedom of a solid vocal technique while at the same time feeling confident in exploring different styles and forms of expression. Remember that the process of learning to sing is both technical and emotional. It is normal that you will face challenges along the way, but we will be here to support you every step of the way. The key is to keep an open mind and enjoy every discovery you make with your voice. Below you will find the syllabus that we will follow throughout the course. Get ready to release tension, gain confidence, and, above all, enjoy the art of singing! Let's begin this vocal adventure together!
